My friend Julia at our party in New Zealand. I love all the reminders of summer in this photo :)

Hi there!

If you’ve popped over from Liberty Cottage as part of the Celebrating Blog Friendships party, welcome!

Firstly, a little about me: I’m from New Zealand and two years ago I moved to London to fulfill a lifelong dream to travel and see the world (and lets be honest that’s much easier to do from the UK than the middle of nowhere!) I’ve been scrapbooking about 3.5 years and I love having a creative outlet that lets me combine my love for photography, travel and paper goods :)

I started this blog almost exactly a year ago, mainly to connect with other crafty people out there in the world and I’ve discovered so many amazing, inspiring like-minded people by doing this.

But I was surprised to learn that as well as meeting new people, blogging would help me reconnect with Leah, one of my dearest friends from back home in NZ. When you live on opposite sides of the world, precious time spent on the phone or skype is usually spent catching up on all the big news of the last few months – but blogging gives a whole new dimension to our friendship:

  • I love reading the little stories from the weekend trips she takes around my beautiful home country.
  • I love seeing what she’s been scrapping lately and knowing which are her favourite products at the moment.
  • I love waking up in the morning to find an encouraging comment she’s left on my blog post from the night before.

And most of all I want to thank her for her generous heart and for going out of her way to help me out with a little project last month :) I have a sweet little gift for her on my coffee table right now (which will be in the post on Monday!) and I wanted to add a little personal touch to it…

…I realise I’m ruining a little bit of the surprise here but I wanted to share something crafty with you today!

If you’re taking part in the competition for the grand prize, here is your letter to collect:

I had so much fun taking this photo today! (and I should probably take this opportunity to confess my complete addiction to Thickers)

Now head on over to Chatty Crafty Arty Pig to continue the party and to get the next letter in the phrase!

Have a great weekend,

N x

With all the excitement of the competition now over, i’m disappointed to say we came second. Booo! We were pretty close though, and to be honest I really didn’t have anyone left to ask! So I think we did our best.

I wanted to take a moment to thank a few lovely people out there, many who I’d never even met (in person or online) before this whole competition craziness started. I’d been feeling a little iffy about Twitter since I signed up, there are some really unfriendly people out there and I was wondering whether it was really for me or not.

But I’m happy to say my faith in humanity (well at least people on the internet) has been restored as there were so many lovely people retweeting and asking their friends to vote for me which I think is amazing.

So if you’re looking for someone lovely to follow on Twitter or if you’re looking for some blogs to read written by nice people, here are my suggestions, along with a huge thank you for all their support and help…

First and foremost, I have to suggest you head over to Leah’s blog and say hello! I can give you a personal guarantee that she is a lovely person to follow, either by blog or by Twitter as I’ve known this girl my entire life and she’s an amazing friend. She went to extraordinary lengths to help us out and I hope I can repay the favour one day! (geez, I’m tearing up a bit here!)
